THE QUARANTINED

We play music that is the embodiment of the defiant and triumphant, human independent spirit overcoming the systems bent on its oppression and death.

SEAN MARTIN

THE SOUL OF SURVIVAL

I’m Sean Martin: former Airborne Infantryman, PTSD survivor, and lifelong artist. After a 2006 deployment to Iraq, I returned home to a world that felt unrecognizable. I founded The Quarantined to bridge the gap between the battlefield and the stage—turning the grit of survival into the soul of music and gear.

BEYOND THE MASK

ART BORN FROM ADVERSITY

I’m Sean Martin—former Airborne Infantryman, PTSD survivor, and founder of The Quarantined. After returning from Iraq, I found myself in a "personal horror show" where my own mind was the cage. I created this brand to turn that anger and pain into something tangible. Our gear isn't just about the aesthetic; it’s about the discipline of self-awareness and the survival of the individual in a complex world. Join us in building a future greater than our past.

Foundation

Company Founded

All Former students at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA, playing live around Southern California everywhere they could, they embraced their different musical backgrounds by recording at Psycho Monkey Records for months in 2013, which would become the self-titled EP.

In 2014, The Quarantined gained momentum, performing increasingly high-profile shows at major Los Angeles venues including the House of Blues (Sunset), Loaded, and Infusion Lounge at Universal CityWalk. Their single “Point the Finger,” released through Lucent Records, earned a nomination for Best International Act from Pure M Magazine (Ireland) in 2015. That same year, Sean authored an eight-part blog series, Music in the Digital Era, exploring the challenges of creating art in a digital-first industry. The band also released their first music video for “Point the Finger,” directed by John Rael.

Growth

First Major Expansion

In 2016, The Quarantined recorded “Antiquate Hate” at Ultimate Studios Inc. in Los Angeles. A lyric video for “The End?!”, produced by Deviant Multimedia Productions, received an Independent Music Award nomination. The EP was recorded with engineer/producer Charlie Waymire and producer Brian “Hacksaw” Williams, and later completed with legendary producer George G1 Archie (Arista, Death Row, Capitol). Antiquate Hate earned international press, radio play in 13 countries, and widespread U.S. college radio rotation. The EP stands as a haunting exploration of five forces shaping human existence—love, addiction, religion, politics, and war—and how our instinct to protect them perpetuates suffering.

Comeback

Playing Thru the Pain

2018 was a year of dissapointment and heartbreak- The management we had tried to steal Antiquate Hate at the point of distribution, with no other option, the record was removed from all online presence. Because of this, the band had to disband, Sean went through a divorce, moved to the other side of the country, and thought it was all over for a short lived dream, holding onto one idea- to keep playing thru the pain, and work on the next album to come, Aversion to Normalcy.

Achievement

Global Recognition

In 2021, Sean shifted into a solo chapter, traveling from Florida to Boston and back to Los Angeles, performing at open mics in support of upcoming material. A successful crowdfunding campaign with Plaid Dog Records (Boston, MA) supported the release of singles “One Last Chance” and “Instagram Hell.”

Inspired by these cross-country travels, Sean recorded, mixed, and mastered “Bedroom Inc.”, an album of covers released on Bandcamp. A deluxe edition featured contributions from Zack Rapp (Dream Theater) on guitars and violins, and Dennis Morehouse (Batfarm, Gilby Clarke) on drums. Bedroom Inc. received notable press from Rolling Stone UK, USA Today, and LA Weekly.

Music Release & Entertainment News

Sean Martin’s “Aversion to Normalcy”

A new album, “Aversion to Normalcy,” released November 12, 2025. Recorded at Blackbird Studios and Sound Emporium in Nashville, TN, the album features elite session musicians including Jerry Roe (drums), Luis Espaillat (bass), and Zack Rapp (lead guitar/violins). Produced by Nathan Yarborough (Halestorm, Evanescence, Apocalyptica, Alice in Chains) at Blackbird Studios, with Grant Wilson producing and engineering “Unspoken” at Sound Emporium featuring David Keith on drums, the record was written, performed, and executive produced by Sean Martin. Aversion to Normalcy is a cathartic confrontation with trauma, resilience, and the illusion of “normal” in a fractured world. The release has generated international press, surpassed 1 million Spotify streams, and accumulated over 40 million views on TikTok—cementing Sean as a distinctive voice in modern rock.

Survival on Air

Podcasting the Mechanics of Survival

For Sean Martin, the podcast circuit has become an essential extension of his artistic and advocacy work—a way to bridge the gap between his experiences in the Airborne Infantry and the raw, narrative-driven sound of Aversion to Normalcy.
Throughout 2025 and into early 2026, these appearances have allowed him to peel back the layers of his journey, moving past the music to discuss the "mechanics" of survival. Whether he’s dissecting the failures of the current mental health infrastructure, speaking on the transition from service to civilian life, or warning against the rise of authoritarianism, his approach remains consistent: he treats every interview as a "skill-check" for both the host and the listener.
By guesting on diverse platforms, Sean is using his voice not just to promote an album, but to advocate for a "Self-Care" philosophy that demands systemic change. He consistently challenges his audience to move past the curation of social media and the comforts of the status quo, pushing instead for an uncomfortable, necessary honesty about why we do what we do—and why our capacity for compassion is the most radical tool we have.
